Tailrunners 5k Canicross Event 2020

10th october 2020

5k canicross race

Tailrunners SE Canicross Running Club are excited to bring you the first canicross race hosted at Nuclear Races, Essex.

Sponsored by

Race Entry: £20 with £2 from every entry going to Essex Retired Police Dogs Fund

The race is a 5k course, that will involve some of the water obstacles at Nuclear.  But there will also be an option to go round them if you or your dog is not a water lover!  And an extra section to run instead. But for everyone there will be plenty of mud!  The course is all off road, and we have exclusive use of the site for the race.

It will be chip timed by Total Race Timing with finish photos and times up after the race.

We welcome all abilities to participate, it will not be a PB course, but it will be lots of fun and a brilliant experience for all involved.  All we ask is that you have appropriate canicross equipment to run with your dog (please see our terms and conditions for details)

We are excited to be hosting the Tailrunners 5k canicross race at Nuclear Races for their first ever canicross event.  They are a multi industry award winning Obstacle Race company, based in Kelvedon Hatch, on the outskirts of Brentwood. They hosted the inaugural British OCR championships, and more recently, the prestigious World OCR Championships for 2 years running. Their land has woodland trails, open fields, and mud. Plenty of mud!

We will not be using any main obstacles but we will use some of the water ditch obstacles.  These will be marshalled with trained dog handlers, and full risk assessments will have been carried out prior to the race.
